ITA Airways cabin crew interview questions

Europe · 4 categories · 16 questions

These are real-style questions in the four categories ITA Airways assessments actually use — safety and scenario judgment, motivation and fit, teamwork (CRM), and background. All 16 are below in full, with the guidance a recruiter would give. No account needed to read them.

Safety & scenario judgment

The seatbelt sign is on for turbulence and a passenger walks to the lavatory anyway. What do you do?

They want a clear instruction to return and be seated, delivered with authority rather than as a request, and your own securing prioritised. Escorting them to the lavatory during turbulence is the wrong answer.

You are told to prepare the cabin for a rapid descent. What are your priorities and in what order?

A pure procedure question. They want secured trolleys and galleys, passengers seated and belted, exits clear, and a report to the senior when the cabin is secure — in that order, without improvisation.

What would you do if a passenger's mobility aid could not be stowed as planned?

They want the ground and senior involved, a compliant stowage solution found, and the passenger kept informed — never a loose item in the cabin and never leaving them without their aid on arrival.

A passenger reports feeling faint during boarding. What do you do?

They want an assessment before departure and a decision made on stand rather than airborne, with the senior involved.

Motivation & fit

ITA is a young airline rebuilding a national carrier. What appeals to you about joining at this stage?

They want awareness that this means evolving procedures and less certainty than an established carrier, framed as something you find motivating rather than something you have not considered.

What would you bring to the Italian service style on board?

They want warmth and genuine attentiveness described as behaviour — reading a table, remembering a preference, unhurried presence — rather than a reference to elegance or style in the abstract.

Final interviewEditorialReviewed Jul 2026

What do you know about how this airline differs from its predecessor?

A research check with a clear line between prepared and not. They want awareness of the restructuring and what it means for working conditions and standards.

Final interviewEditorialReviewed Jul 2026

What would you contribute in the first six months?

They want realistic, specific contributions from a new joiner — reliability, learning fast, supporting the crew — rather than grand plans.

Teamwork & CRM

Tell me about a time you had to learn a new procedure quickly and apply it under pressure.

Directly relevant at an airline whose processes are still settling. They want the learning method and the application, not just the outcome.

Your crew disagrees about how to handle a disruptive passenger. How do you resolve it?

They want a quick alignment behind the senior's decision so the passenger sees one consistent response, with any disagreement raised in the debrief. Visible crew disagreement in front of a disruptive passenger makes it worse.

Final interviewEditorialReviewed Jul 2026

Tell me about a time procedures were unclear and you had to act anyway.

Relevant at an airline still settling its processes. They want a bounded decision and escalation, not improvisation.

Final interviewEditorialReviewed Jul 2026

Describe a time you helped a team through a period of change.

They want a concrete stabilising contribution rather than a claim of positivity.

Background & general

What do you know about our network and our main hub?

A basic research check that many candidates fail. They want the Rome Fiumicino hub and a sense of the long-haul and European mix, not a list of Italian cities.

Final interviewEditorialReviewed Jul 2026

How do your Italian and English compare under operational pressure?

Both are working languages here. An honest, calibrated answer about where each holds up and where it strains is better received than a claim of equal fluency.

Final interviewEditorialReviewed Jul 2026

How do you build rapport with a passenger in a very short interaction?

They want a specific technique — using a name, one genuine question, remembering something — rather than natural charm.

Final interviewEditorialReviewed Jul 2026

What would make this a career rather than a few years for you?

A retention question. They want progression and longevity described concretely.

How airlines typically hire cabin crew

We don’t have a sourced process for ITA Airways specifically, so this is the shape most major carriers follow — typically 4–12 weeks.

Reading questions is the easy part. This is the same recruiter that runs the full interview — it asks from the list above, pushes back when an answer is thin, and tells you what an assessor would have flagged. No account, no card.
